Getting around
Infrastructure & access
Sintra station terminates the Lisbon–Sintra line, about 40 minutes to Lisboa Rossio. Roads IC19, A16 and N247 connect the area. Note that the centre sees heavy tourist congestion and very limited parking from spring to autumn — walking or park-and-ride is best. The public Hospital de Sintra (opened July 2025, with an emergency department) is in Algueirão–Mem Martins, about 15 minutes away; Amadora-Sintra (Fernando Fonseca) remains the larger referral hospital.
