There is no railway station — the nearest is Sintra, terminus of the Lisbon–Sintra line, about 20 minutes' drive. The heritage tram was extended to Azenhas do Mar in 1930, but that section closed in 1955 and the line now ends at Praia das Maçãs. Local roads join the N247 at Colares, then the IC19 and A16. Village cafés cover the basics; supermarkets and services are in Colares and Sintra. The north cliff was stabilised by the Portuguese Environment Agency (APA) in 2019–2020.
